CHERNOZEMKA 88 — a soft winter wheat variety (Triticum aestivum L.) intended for cultivation in the Central-Black Soil region, including the Voronezh and Ryazan regions. This mid-early or mid-season variety is distinguished by its adaptability to various climatic conditions, with a vegetation period ranging from 282 to 317 days. The plants are medium-tall or medium-high in height, ranging from 75 to 116 cm, and are semi-erect or intermediate in bush type. The ear of the variety is cylindrical or pyramidal, of medium density, white in color, with an oval grain and a long awn. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 36 to 48 grams, indicating good grain quality.

The variety exhibits lodging resistance and drought resistance at the level of known standards, such as Tarasovskaya 29 and Moskovskaya 39. Winter hardiness is at a medium or above-average level, ensuring reliable overwintering under regional conditions. A waxy coating on the ear and leaves contributes to plant protection against adverse factors. Yield is high: average figures reach 38.3–39.4 c/ha, while maximum yields reach up to 70.2–80.8 c/ha, making CHERNOZEMKA 88 a promising choice for agricultural producers.

However, the variety is susceptible to certain diseases, such as brown rust, powdery mildew, hard and powdery bunt, as well as snow mold. Therefore, appropriate agronomic and protective measures are recommended during cultivation.
