The VR 808 potato variety is a medium-early Dutch table variety characterized by high yield and versatility in culinary use. Tubers have round or round-oval shape with smooth, dense skin and yellow flesh. Marketable tuber weight ranges from 80 to 109 grams, and starch content is 16.2-18.7%, making this variety suitable for making mashed potatoes, baking, boiling, as well as for chip production and frying. The taste of tubers is rated as good to excellent, confirming the variety's high consumer qualities.

VR 808 plants are of medium height, leafy type, semi-erect or spreading, with large light-green leaves. The number of tubers per plant ranges from 5 to 10. Yield of the variety is 187-223 centners per hectare, which is 22 centners higher than the Nevsky standard, with maximum yield reaching 243 centners per hectare. Storage quality of tubers is high — 95%, ensuring excellent winter storage, with 88-95% of the harvest suitable for sale.

VR 808 variety is resistant to several diseases, including potato cancer and golden potato cyst nematode. According to the breeder, the variety is moderately resistant to late blight of foliage and tubers, as well as to potato mosaic virus. Preferred growing regions include Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, and Middle Volga regions of Russia.
