Description Royal
Royal is a late-maturing Dutch potato variety with oval tubers, suitable for various culinary purposes, including frying, roasting, and baking. Plants of this variety are medium to tall, with semi-erect leaves of medium to large size, green to dark green in color. Tubers have yellow skin and flesh, with medium-depth eyes that facilitate processing. Marketable tuber weight ranges from 95 to 118 grams, and the number of tubers per plant reaches 10–12.

The variety is characterized by high marketable yield, ranging from 159 to 243 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 396 centners per hectare. Starch content in tubers is 12.2–15.6%, corresponding to the culinary type BC and ensuring good flavor. Marketability of the variety reaches 80–93%, and storability is 96%, indicating a long storage life without quality loss.

Royal exhibits resistance to potato cancer pathogen and golden potato cyst nematode, enhancing its reliability and reducing the risk of yield loss. The variety was developed by DLF Seeds A/S from the Netherlands. Due to its characteristics and resistance, Royal is an excellent choice for commercial cultivation and use in the food industry.
