Description WHITE SPRING
The potato variety 'White Spring' is an ultrapreearly table variety developed in Russia, intended for early commercial production. The plant is of medium height with upright stems that may lean upon ripening. Leaves are large, light green, and deeply lobed; flowering is brief with a red-purple corolla. Tubers are oval, white with small pink eyes, with an average weight per marketable tuber ranging from 80 to 140 grams. The flesh is white, making it versatile for preparing various dishes.

The variety is characterized by high yield — from 27 to 38 tons per hectare, with marketability reaching 85–93%. Starch content in tubers varies from 11 to 15%, ensuring good taste and high storability, reaching 93%. The number of tubers per plant ranges from 8 to 14. The ripening period is 60–70 days, and the first harvest is possible as early as 42–45 days after planting, making it suitable for early harvest.

'White Spring' has moderate resistance to viral diseases, alternaria, and late blight, but is susceptible to phytophthora on both foliage and tubers. Despite susceptibility to phytophthora, the variety is valued for its high early yield and good storability. Preferred growing regions include the Volga-Vyatka, Ural, East Siberian, and Far Eastern regions. Potatoes are suitable for open-ground planting and are used in culinary applications due to their white flesh and versatility in preparing various dishes.
