Sunflower 3023 A

French breeding for consistent results

The sunflower hybrid "3023 A" from Laboulet Semences is a choice for growers who value predictability. This simple French-bred hybrid is designed to produce large seeds while maintaining a moderate plant height (ranging from 90 to 110 cm). The compact stem combined with high head productivity allows the plant to efficiently distribute nutrients without wasting energy on excessive vegetative growth.

Agronomic profile and maturity

A key feature of the "3023 A" is its flexible vegetation period. Depending on regional climatic conditions, it ranges from 100 to 120 days. This plasticity makes it an optimal solution for farms aiming to streamline their harvesting campaign and balance the workload on machinery and staff.

Pros and limitations

• Growth energy: Being a simple hybrid, "3023 A" shows excellent crop uniformity. This is critical for even maturation and simplified threshing processes.
• Seed size: Large seed size is the trademark of this hybrid, increasing its market value for processing plants.
• Limitations: Due to the compact height (up to 110 cm), the hybrid requires careful weed management in the early stages, as it lacks the aggressive growth height needed to shade out competitors effectively.

This hybrid is well-suited for farmers operating on soils with medium-to-high fertility, where the priority is maximizing grain yield per hectare while avoiding the lodging issues often associated with taller sunflower varieties.
