Potato Polissia Jubilee

Stable yields under challenging conditions

Working with the "Polissya Yuvileina" variety from the Polissya Research Station named after O.M. Zasukhin proves that this potato is built for consistency. For an agronomist working on Ukrainian soils, the key is not just the potential yield, but the crop's resilience in the field. This variety is a workhorse that is forgiving of common agronomic errors.

Agronomic profile and resistance

During a wet summer, when late blight becomes the primary headache for a farmer, this variety demonstrates enviable resistance.

• Appearance and shape: Round-oval tubers with a standard shape, which pass through potato harvesters perfectly while maintaining their commercial appearance.
• Flesh: The creamy flesh color and excellent culinary qualities make this potato highly sought after by wholesalers and end consumers alike.
• Protection: A high resistance threshold to common scab ensures clean tubers even in plots where soil-borne infections cause trouble for other varieties.

Managing crops of this variety does not require specific, complex agrochemical protocols. The potato responds consistently to standard fertilizer application schemes. During storage, the tubers show excellent shelf life, allowing producers to wait for better market pricing rather than rushing to sell immediately after harvest. For farms looking for a balance between low-maintenance requirements and high-quality end product, choosing this variety is a logical business decision.
