Poliss'ke dzherelo — a mid-late maturing table potato variety developed by the Institute of Potato Breeding of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. The vegetative period is approximately 120 days, with yields reaching 38.8–47.7 tons per hectare. Plants are tall, upright, with thick stems, medium-sized dark green leaves, and flowers with red-violet corollas. The variety is characterized by moderate growth intensity of foliage and tuber formation, forming 10–12 tubers per plant, making it suitable for mechanized production. Tubers are oval, pink in color, with shallow red eyes, average weight around 100 grams. Flesh is creamy, does not darken upon boiling, has increased carotenoid content, and belongs to taste group B, ensuring high taste quality — 4.5 points on a five-point scale. Starch content in tubers ranges from 17.2–17.4%, making the variety versatile for boiled potatoes, mashed potatoes, soups, salads, derunis, and baking. Poliss'ke dzherelo is distinguished by high storability and storage capability, as well as enhanced drought resistance. The variety is resistant to late blight (pathotype 1), common scab, wet bacterial rot, wet alternaria, and ring rot, and shows moderate resistance to leaf and tuber phytophthora. It adapts well to various soil types and positively responds to increased fertilizer doses and irrigation, making it advantageous for cultivation under different agroclimatic conditions.
