The Polissia 96 potato variety has a vegetation period of about 120 days and a high starch content — from 17.2 to 17.4%. The tubers are oval-shaped and pink, with an average weight of about 100 grams per tuber. The flesh is soft and cream-colored, giving it excellent taste qualities and an attractive market appearance. This variety belongs to taste group B and is characterized by good storage capability, making it suitable for long-term use.

Polissia 96 is distinguished by high yield and ecological adaptability, allowing it to be grown on various soil types. The variety exhibits enhanced drought resistance, which is particularly important for regions with variable climates. Additionally, the potato demonstrates good resistance to diseases such as late blight, scab, wet bacterial rot, and wet alternaria, although its resistance to phytophthora is low.

This variety was developed at the Potato Institute of UAAN and is successfully used in agriculture due to its suitability for mechanized cultivation.
