Levada

Levada potato is a medium-early table variety of Ukrainian selection with a maturity period of 80 to 100 days. Tubers have a round-oval shape, light-pink skin, and tender cream-colored flesh. Starch content in tubers ranges from 17 to 19%, ensuring excellent taste quality rated at 8.7 points and making the variety particularly suitable for making French fries and chips. The average number of tubers per plant is 10-15, contributing to high yield and product quality.

The Levada variety is characterized by high resistance to major potato diseases, including late blight, phytophthora, stem nematode, and potato cyst nematode. Due to its adaptability to soil types and growing conditions, it is successfully cultivated in various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine, such as the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions. Medium-height plants are suitable for double cropping, allowing farmers to effectively plan agronomic activities and achieve stable high yields.

Levada potato is recommended for open-field cultivation, sown in May at a depth of 8-10 cm and with a spacing of 60 x 35 cm. The yield of this variety reaches 470 kg per hundred square meters, and under optimal conditions, it can reach up to 48 tons per hectare. Early maturity and high productivity make Levada an attractive choice for farmers focused on producing high-quality table potatoes and processed products.
