Potato Obelix

Dutch breeding for high yields

Obelix potatoes from Hzpc Holland have established themselves as a benchmark for mid-season table potatoes, earning a reputation as a reliable workhorse for both commercial farms and home gardens. The Dutch pedigree ensures strict adherence to genetic standards, which is critical for disease control and harvest uniformity.

Agronomic potential and resistance

With a vegetation period of 75–85 days, this variety adapts successfully to temperate climate zones. Obelix does not require complex cultivation schemes, demonstrating high resistance to the most dangerous pathogens:

• Potato Cyst Nematode: The variety is highly resistant to this pest, making it suitable for fields with a history of soil infestation.
• Potato Leafroll Virus: Exceptional tolerance preserves the bush's photosynthetic potential until harvest.
• Common Scab: Tuber cleanliness is maintained even under unfavorable weather conditions, significantly improving the market appearance of the produce.

Market quality

Obelix tubers feature a consistent round-oval shape, making them highly attractive for retail and HoReCa segments. The weight of commercial tubers ranges from 50 to 130 grams, an ideal size for culinary use and industrial processing. Given its excellent flavor profile and storage life, this variety remains a preferred choice for growers seeking predictable yields and stable market demand.
