Experience in cultivating the «Tanos» sunflower hybrid from the "List" breeders shows that this is an option for those who want to avoid gambling with weather and infection levels. In practice, this hybrid demonstrates the technological flexibility required in the Ukrainian climate.

A Phytosanitary Shield

The main advantage of "Tanos" is its resistance. In seasons with excessive moisture, when neighboring fields start suffering from fungal diseases, "Tanos" stands firm. We observed its performance against a range of issues:

• Alternaria and Septoria do not develop even in dense crops.
• Phomopsis and Peronospora do not reach a phase requiring emergency fungicide applications.
• Phytophthora, which often ruins yields at the finish line, is practically non-existent here.

Field Performance

As an operator, I must highlight the uniformity of the crops. For a "List" hybrid, this is standard, but "Tanos" is particularly impressive during harvesting. The plants have similar heights, and the heads ripen evenly—this is critical for header adjustment and minimizing losses during threshing. The seeds sit tightly in the head and do not shatter if left in the field too long, providing a margin for error if equipment is stretched thin during peak periods.

Economics and Agronomics

The hybrid is predictable in its response to mineral nutrition. It efficiently converts fertilizers into head mass. As for moisture release, it goes smoothly: by the time of harvest, if seeding dates are followed, you get commercial grain with base moisture levels, saving significant costs on drying. "Tanos" is a workhorse for farms that value a systematic approach to crop protection and want a stable output without unpleasant surprises.
