Potato Priska

German Breeding for Consistent Yields

The Priska variety, developed by the reputable German breeder Europlant Pflanzenzucht, is a prime example of European potato breeding excellence, combining high technical standards with predictable outcomes. As a mid-late maturing variety, it requires 105–115 days from planting to harvest, allowing the tubers to fully develop their mass and firm structure, which is ideal for long-term storage.

Biological Potential and Key Characteristics

Visually, Priska stands out with a striking contrast: its smooth, pink-hued skin conceals a delicate creamy flesh. The tubers grow uniform and oval, with a marketable weight ranging from 50 to 130 grams. These parameters make the variety highly sought after in both the retail market and the processing sector, where caliber stability is paramount.

Agronomic Advantages

• Comprehensive Immunity: Genetic resistance to golden potato cyst nematode minimizes risks in infested soils.
• Phytosanitary Reliability: High resistance to potato leafroll virus and common scab helps reduce pesticide use, making the cultivation process more sustainable.
• Storage: The dense tuber structure and specific biological traits ensure minimal post-harvest losses during winter storage.

Choosing Priska is an investment in the high quality of German seed material. Europlant Pflanzenzucht has been refining its lines for decades, and this variety upholds the brand's reputation, providing farmers with reliable performance even under volatile climatic conditions.
