Potato Drevlyanka

Stability and Protection: A Breeding Breakthrough for the Polissya Region

The 'Drevlyanka' potato variety is a product of extensive breeding work by the Institute of Agriculture of Polissya (NAAS of Ukraine). It is a mid-season table potato that has established a strong market reputation as a reliable option for both private growers and professional farmers focused on long-term storage.

In the Ukrainian climate, the ability to withstand common pathogens is a critical success factor. 'Drevlyanka' was specifically bred to provide a robust defense against soil-borne and infectious threats. Its genetic profile offers significant resistance to golden potato cyst nematode and potato wart, allowing for consistent cultivation on established plots without the risk of crop failure. Furthermore, its high level of immunity to late blight and common scab reduces the necessity for intensive chemical treatment.

Key Advantages

• Storage Potential: The dense structure of the tubers ensures excellent storability, making this variety an optimal choice for winter inventory management.
• Culinary Qualities: As a table potato, it features a balanced starch content, ensuring the tubers do not darken during boiling and maintain a firm texture in various culinary applications.
• Adaptability: The variety shows predictable yield performance across the diverse soil types characteristic of the Ukrainian Polissya region.

The market success of 'Drevlyanka' is built on the combination of low-maintenance cultivation and superior produce quality. It is a reliable solution for producers looking to minimize post-harvest losses and ensure a consistent supply of quality potatoes throughout the storage period.
