Jeran

Jeran — an early-maturing table potato variety with a vegetation period of 80–90 days. The plants of this variety are of medium height and well-leafed, with a compact tuber cluster. The flowers have a red-violet corolla. The tubers are pink, round-oval with small eyes and white flesh. The average weight of marketable tubers is 70–80 grams. The potato has good taste qualities, rated 3.3–3.9 points, and starch content in tubers ranges from 13.9% to 14.4%. The Jeran variety is characterized by high yield: already at the first harvests, on the 60–65th day after planting, the yield reaches 90–120 centners per hectare. By the end of the vegetation period, the yield increases to 310–320 centners per hectare, which is 22 centners higher than the standard variety Zov. The potato keeps well during winter, retaining its qualities. The variety is resistant to the common biotype of late blight, moderately resistant to phytophthora of foliage and tubers, and relatively resistant to iron-stained spot and stem nematode. Additionally, it has field resistance to viral diseases. Jeran is recommended for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine due to its adaptability and disease resistance. This variety is in demand among producers and consumers due to its combination of high yield, good taste qualities, and reliable storage.
