The Dovira potato variety is a medium-early table variety with a vegetation period of 70 to 80 days. The tubers are oval-shaped, with an average weight of 100 to 105 grams, pink skin, and white flesh. This variety is distinguished by its high starch content, ranging from 16.1% to 18%, making it high-starch and suitable for various culinary purposes. The plant flowers are red-purple, and the bushes are medium-height and upright.
Dovira exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases and stress factors, including nematodes, phytophthora, rizoctonia, blackleg, viral infections, and the common biotype of cancer. This resistance makes the variety a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions, particularly in the Polissia and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine. The variety responds well to higher fertilizer doses and adequate moisture, contributing to a high yield potential of 30 to 40 tons per hectare.
The tubers of the Dovira variety are characterized by high marketability and excellent taste qualities. They have good storage capacity, ranging from 92% to 96%, allowing them to retain their quality for a long time after harvest. The variety was registered in 2007 by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and is recommended for cultivation in Polissia, confirming its adaptability and economic attractiveness for farmers.
