Plants are tall, intermediate type, semi-erect, with a spreading form and height of 50–60 cm. Leaves are medium-sized, light green, and flower buds have weak or absent anthocyanin pigmentation. Tubers are oval-round, large, weighing 102-143 g, with small eyes, light beige thick skin, and white flesh. Starch content in tubers is 14.4-14.8%, ensuring good taste and excellent culinary qualities.
Variety 'Athletic' is highly resistant to several diseases, including potato blight, golden potato nematode, virus Y, late blight, bacterial diseases, as well as leaf curling and mosaic. According to the breeder, the variety is resistant to leaf and tuber late blight, although according to data from the All-Russian Research Institute of Phytopathology, it is susceptible to late blight pathogen on foliage and moderately susceptible on tubers. Additionally, the potato has good heat tolerance (rating 5) and high drought resistance (rating 7), making it suitable for cultivation under various climatic conditions.
