Potato Annushka

Stable yields with German genetics

For agricultural enterprises focusing on marketability and culinary quality of table potatoes, the 'Annushka' variety from Europlant Pflanzenzucht breeders is a true field workhorse. This mid-early variety (growing season 75–85 days) is the choice of farmers who need predictable results with minimal disease risks.

Why 'Annushka' is a practical choice

The key value of this variety lies in its robust health profile. High resistance to late blight and Potato Virus Y allows for a reduction in chemical treatments, directly lowering production costs. Furthermore, it exhibits excellent resistance to major threats: nematodes (golden and root-knot), blackleg, and rhizoctonia. This makes it an ideal solution for fields with soil-borne infections where other varieties might fail.

Market quality and logistics

The tuber characteristics of 'Annushka' meet the strict requirements of modern retail:

• Round-oval shape with smooth yellow skin;
• Shallow, almost invisible eyes, simplifying post-harvest handling;
• Rich yellow flesh that does not darken during mechanical harvesting;
• Stable starch content of 16–17%, providing optimal cooking texture (keeps shape, doesn't fall apart).

Practical application scenario: if your goal is to produce uniform, marketable potatoes with a long shelf life, 'Annushka' covers all your needs. The smooth skin and resistance to common scab minimize culling rates at sorting lines. This is a reliable variety for those who want to avoid risky experiments with finicky hybrids and prefer the proven German breeding standards of Europlant Innovation & KG.
