Sunflower Goldsun is a mid-early hybrid with high resistance to downy mildew races A-G and new strains of false powdery mildew. This hybrid features high initial growth energy, promoting rapid plant development and stable yields. The plant height averages 147 cm, the head diameter is 15.4 cm, and the 1000-seed weight is 71 grams. Thanks to these characteristics, Goldsun adapts well to various growing conditions and is recommended for all sunflower cultivation zones, particularly the Central and Northern Steppes.
The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to various diseases, including fomopsis, root rot, moldy head rot, dry rot, and fomosis. Additionally, Goldsun has good cold tolerance and stress resistance, confirmed by ratings of 8 out of 9 points. Oil content in the seeds is about 8 points, making this hybrid attractive for oilseed production.
To achieve maximum yield, which in Ukraine ranges from 35 to 38.8 centners per hectare, it is recommended to maintain optimal plant density and ensure soil fertility through fertilizers. The hybrid’s yield potential is rated 9 out of 9 points, indicating its high productivity and stability under various agroclimatic conditions.
