Sour Cherry 'Okraza Sada'

Sour cherry variety 'Okraza Sada' is a medium-late maturing variety developed at the Myliivskiy Institute of Horticulture named after L.P. Simirenko. This variety was obtained by crossing 'Gigant' and 'Vasilek' varieties and is characterized by medium-sized fruits weighing 30–35 grams with an oval shape. The flesh is greenish-yellow, juicy and firm, with a tangy-sweet taste, making them attractive for both fresh consumption and processing into jams, jellies, pastilles, dried fruits, including prunes.

The tree of variety 'Okraza Sada' exhibits medium- to strong-growing habit with a wide-pyramidal crown of moderate density. The variety possesses sufficient winter hardiness, allowing successful cultivation in the Forest-steppe region of Ukraine. Additionally, it demonstrates increased resistance to fungal diseases, reducing the need for frequent protective treatments and simplifying care for the plant.

To successfully grow sour cherries of this variety, it is important to follow agronomic practices, including proper pruning, protection against pests, and creation of optimal growing conditions.
