Description
Plum variety 'Original' is a medium-late variety with high winter hardiness and drought resistance. Trees of this variety are medium-sized with moderately dense crowns. One-year shoots are semi-vertical, and vegetative buds are medium-sized, conical in shape, slightly deviated from the shoot. Leaves are broadly oval, dark green in color with serrated edges.
Fruit set is regular; trees begin to bear fruit on the fourth year after grafting. Recommended soil-climate zones for cultivation include forest-steppe and Polissia. With a planting scheme of 6 by 4 meters, average yield reaches 172 centners per hectare, indicating high productivity of the variety.
Fruits are large, nearly round in shape, with purplish-brown coloration and clearly visible gray-brown skin spots. Average fruit weight is 41.5 grams, maximum — 57.8 grams.
