Renclod Karbysheva

Renclod Karbysheva plum — an early Ukrainian selection variety, developed in 1951 at the Donetsk branch of the Institute of Horticulture of UAAN by breeder L. I. Taranchenko through crossing Jefferson and Persikovaya varieties. The tree is medium-sized, reaching up to 4.5 meters in height, with an oval and compact crown. The variety is recommended for cultivation throughout Ukraine and is distinguished by high resistance to major diseases.

The fruits of this variety are large, weighing 40–50 grams, round in shape with a dense, bright red skin that turns nearly purple upon overripening, with a characteristic waxy bloom. The flesh is dark yellow, very juicy and sweet, with a slight tartness and pleasant aroma. The stone is medium-sized and easily separates from the flesh. In terms of taste quality, Renclod Karbysheva ranks among the top early-ripening varieties, receiving high sensory ratings — up to 4.9 points.

The plum is excellent for fresh consumption due to its dessert-like flavor, and is widely used in processing. Fruits are used to produce high-quality prunes and delicious compotes. High yield and versatility make this variety a popular choice for gardeners and plum enthusiasts.
