Porteca F1 is an early, high-yielding hybrid of sweet pepper type 'Capiya', developed by the seed company Rijk Zwaan from the Netherlands. The plant is low-growing, compact, and generative, with strong stems and abundant foliage. Bushes are spreading, forming a large number of fruit set evenly distributed throughout the plant. The hybrid has strong resistance to tobacco mosaic virus, contributing to stable yields and plant health. Porteca F1 fruits have an elongated-conical shape, typical for 'Capiya' peppers, measuring 12-14 cm in length and 6-7 cm in diameter. The average fruit weight is 130-150 grams. Wall thickness varies from 5 to 7 mm, ensuring juicy, crisp flesh. In technical maturity, fruits are light green, and in biological maturity, they turn into a deep, rich red. A distinguishing feature is high sugar and dry matter content, giving peppers a rich flavor and making them especially attractive to consumers. The Porteca F1 hybrid is versatile in use: its fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for canning, freezing, grilling, and drying. The pepper withstands long-distance transportation and prolonged storage, making it profitable for commercial cultivation. Recommended for cultivation in both plastic and glass greenhouses and open fields, with planting density of 35,000 to 45,000 plants per hectare for optimal growth and yield.
