Florida pepper is an early variety of sweet bell pepper with a vegetation period of about 90 days from germination. The plants are tall, reaching about 60 cm in height, with dense foliage that protects the fruits from sunburn. This variety is distinguished by high productivity and resistance to major diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus, as well as tolerance to temperature fluctuations, making it a reliable choice for cultivation both in open ground and greenhouses.

The fruits of the Florida pepper are large — approximately 12.5 by 10 cm, weighing about 250-270 g. They have an elongated-cube shape, deep red color, and shiny skin. The fruit walls are 7 mm thick, ensuring juiciness and crisp texture of the flesh. The taste of the fruits is fruity-sweet, making them ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for freezing, canning, stuffing, and processing.

The Florida variety is an improved version of the famous California Yolo Wonder variety and is characterized by rapid ripening and ease of cultivation. Seeds are recommended to be sown in March-April, and seedlings should be thinned in the two-true-leaf stage. Due to its characteristics and universal use, this pepper is excellent for fresh market sales and home use, providing a stable and high-quality harvest.
