HEDGEHOG

Pepper 'Hedgehog' — a medium-early hot variety, developed by Belarusian breeders in 2002. The plant is semi-spreading, semi-stemmed, reaching up to 80 cm in height and 60 cm in width, with dark green egg-shaped leaves. The fruits have an elongated-conical shape with a pointed tip, measuring about 12 cm in length and 1.5-2 cm in width, colored dark red at biological maturity. The fruit wall thickness is 2-2.5 mm, weight — 9-11 g, with up to 30 fruits formed per plant. The fruits contain 2-3 seed chambers, with a wide green calyx. The variety exhibits moderate resistance to tobacco mosaic virus and gray mold.

This pepper variety has high yield and universal use. The fruits are heart-shaped, without bitterness, and can be green or red, weighing up to 18 g. Pepper 'Hedgehog' is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in protected environments, including unheated polyethylene greenhouses. The recommended harvest period lasts from May to October, allowing for a stable yield under various climatic conditions.

Pepper 'Hedgehog' is valued for its medium-early ripening and resistance to major diseases, which simplifies care and improves crop quality. Due to its characteristics, this variety is suitable for cultivation in Russia and Belarus, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest of spicy fruits suitable for culinary use in various dishes.
