The Novella pear is a winter variety created through the crossbreeding of the 'Bere zima Mичурина' (Michurin's Winter) and 'Svetlyanka' varieties. This variety was developed by specialists of the All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Breeding of Fruit Plants and is characterized by a medium-sized tree reaching a height of about 4 meters with a narrow pyramidal crown. Fruit production occurs mainly on ringed buds and long shoots, contributing to early fruiting and high yield. The tree possesses high frost resistance, capable of withstanding temperature drops to -40 °C in the middle of winter and maintains stability during various temperature fluctuations in the autumn-winter period. Additionally, the variety is resistant to fungal diseases, which significantly eases care and enhances crop reliability.

Novella pear fruits have a short pear shape and a medium mass of about 135 grams. Their main color is greenish with a pink blush, giving them an attractive appearance. The flesh is granular, very juicy, with a tart-sweet taste, making this variety universal for fresh consumption, as well as for making compotes and drying.

The Novella variety is distinguished not only by high yield but also by the longevity of trees when agro-technical standards are observed. Thanks to its frost resistance and disease resistance, it is a reliable choice for gardeners seeking a high-quality and stable harvest.
