Description NOVOSADOVSKAYA
Novosadovskaya pear is a dwarf variety bred by crossing the Triumf Vienna and Olivier de Serra varieties. The tree is characterized by a compact, rounded, and symmetrical crown of medium density, along with a medium growth rate. The leaves are oblong, smooth, and shiny; shoots are light green and of medium thickness. The variety begins fruiting in the third year after planting and is noted for high resistance to scab and brown spot, as well as high winter and drought hardiness. Pear flowers exhibit high resistance to spring frosts, making the variety reliable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Novosadovskaya pear fruits are large, weighing on average about 210 grams, sometimes reaching 230-340 grams. They have a short-pear shape with tender, smooth, and dry skin of a light yellow color with a pink blush on part of the surface. Lenticels are numerous, small, and clearly visible. The flesh is white, juicy, tender, and buttery, with a harmonious sour-sweet taste and a pleasant aroma. On the tasting scale, the taste is rated highly — from 4.5 to 4.8 points. The fruits ripen in autumn: maturity for harvest is reached in late September, while consumer readiness is in October. The fruits have weak drop, which facilitates harvest collection. The Novosadovskaya variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including Crimea and the North Caucasus region, where it has undergone multi-year trials and has been registered. Due to its qualities and disease resistance, this variety is suitable both for fresh consumption and for use in breeding as a source of dwarfism, high yield, and excellent fruit quality. The Novosadovskaya pear will be an excellent choice for gardeners seeking to obtain tasty and large fruits with good storage life and resistance to adverse conditions.
