Veresneve Deyvo

The pear Veresneve Deyvo is an autumn variety with large, elongated fruits weighing 210 to 280 grams, distinguished by a light-yellow color with a bright dark-red blush covering most of the surface. The flesh is tender, semi-oily, juicy, and free of granules, possessing an excellent dessert flavor with a tasting score of about 7.5–8 points. Harvesting maturity occurs in mid-September, while consumer maturity arrives after 2–3 weeks of storage under special conditions, and the fruits are well-suited for transport and can be stored for up to 4 days.

The tree is medium-sized, reaching up to 3.5 meters in height, with a narrow-pyramidal, compact, and medium-density canopy. The variety is highly winter-hardy, tolerating temperatures down to -20 °C, and resistant to major fungal diseases, including scab. Veresneve Deyvo is not demanding in soil-climatic conditions but does not tolerate acidic soils. Regular watering is recommended, especially during flowering and in preparation for winter.

Fruiting begins on the 3rd–4th year after planting, depending on the rootstock: on quince — in the 3rd year, on seedling rootstock — in the 4th. A single tree can yield up to 56 kg of fruit. The variety is self-fertile, simplifying care and increasing yield stability. Due to its commercial qualities, high frost resistance, and disease resistance, Veresneve Deyvo is suitable for cultivation in open ground, including southern regions.
