Description ESKO
ESKO is a type of early yellow pea of the intensive type, which is distinguished by high productivity and is adapted for direct combine harvesting due to the leafless, erect type of plant. The medium-early variety ripens in 110-115 days and is characterized by plant height from 75 to 100 cm. The leaflet of the variety is well developed, medium size, with a waxy coating and spotting, and the leaves have a moderately-green color. The number of pods on the plant is 10-11 pieces, each pod contains from 5 to 8 spherical-shaped yellow seeds. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 240 to 270 grams, which indicates the large-grainedness of the variety. The ESKO variety is distinguished by exceptional drought resistance, is resistant to shattering and lodging, which ensures crop stability even in complex climatic conditions. It also shows resistance to root rots, ascochytosis, anthracnose and downy mildew, which significantly reduces the risks of losses during cultivation. The variety is suitable for all types of soils and is recommended for cultivation in various agro-climatic zones, including the Polesie, Forest-steppe and Steppe. To increase the efficiency of cultivation, it is recommended to perform desiccation before harvest, as well as the mandatory application of soil and insurance herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and microelements. The yield potential of the ESKO variety reaches 65-70 c/ha, while the average yield is about 57-60 c/ha. The protein content in the grain is in the range of 22.7-24.2%, and the gluten content is 25-28%, which makes this variety attractive for use in the food industry and feed production. The sowing rate is 1.0-1.2 million seeds per hectare, which ensures optimal planting density and maximum productivity. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and resistance to adverse factors, the ESKO variety is one of the most in-demand on the European and Ukrainian markets.
