Description Belmondo
Pea of the cultivated variety Belmondo is a medium-maturing, leafless variety with a bearded shape, possessing high resistance to lodging and shattering of pods. Plants reach a height of 46 to 84 cm, and the mass of 1000 seeds varies within 197–284 g. Protein content in grains is 24.4–25.8%, making this variety valuable for obtaining a quality harvest. The potential yield of the variety reaches 66 c/ha, while under conditions of the Kursk region it is about 18 c/ha. Pea tolerates early spring frosts well and has medium drought resistance. The Belmondo variety is characterized by medium resistance to diseases such as grey mold, fusarium, and bacteriosis, as well as weak resistance to rust and ascohitosis. For seed protection, treatment against root rots and ascohitosis is recommended. When cultivating the variety, it is important to follow agronomic recommendations, including soil treatment with phosphorus at a rate of 45 kg/ha of active substance, potassium up to 120 kg/ha, and nitrogen at sowing of 30–40 kg/ha. The sowing rate is 90–100 seeds per square meter.
