DN Zoryana

The hybrid sweet corn DN Zoryana is a high-yielding mid-early hybrid registered in the registry since 2015. It belongs to the homeostatic type, ensuring resistance to stressful growing conditions such as drought and hot weather, while the hybrid responds well to improved agronomic practices and intensification of production. The plant reaches a height of 230-250 cm, with the ear attached at a height of approximately 100-110 cm. The cylindrical ear, 20-24 cm long, contains 14-18 rows of kernels with a flinty-toothed structure, yellow-orange in color with possible red stripes. The 1000-kernel weight varies from 200 to 350 g, and the grain yield is 75-78%. The hybrid is characterized by rapid moisture shedding and resistance to lodging, stem breakage, and major corn diseases. DN Zoryana is recommended for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie, with optimal planting density: 50-60 thousand plants per hectare in the Steppe, 70-85 thousand in the Forest-Steppe, and up to 90 thousand in the Polesie. Grain yield varies by region from 6.5 to 11 t/ha, with potential reaching 12-14 t/ha under optimal conditions. The hybrid is suitable for both grain and silage use. To enhance cultivation efficiency, seed treatment with insecticides and fungicides, as well as application of growth stimulators and micronutrients containing phosphorus and zinc, is recommended. A key element of agronomy is timely weed control before the 10-leaf stage of corn.
