Pea Ayaks

Optimizing Field Protection with Genetic Resistance

The «Ajax» pea variety, developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, is designed for growers who prioritize risk management and cost-efficiency in disease control. By focusing on strong genetic resistance, this variety serves as a robust foundation for fields with high pathological pressure.

In practical field operations, «Ajax» acts as a biological shield against common threats. In the diverse climate of Ukraine, where humidity frequently triggers outbreaks of leaf spots and root rots, this variety allows agronomists to optimize their fungicide application schedules. It is highly recommended for farms aiming to reduce chemical usage while maintaining crop vitality from emergence to harvest.

Key Operational Advantages

• Comprehensive Disease Resistance: The variety exhibits high natural resistance to Ascochyta blight, Fusarium wilt, rust, anthracnose, septoria, helminthosporium, cercospora, and ramularia. This reduces the risk of crop failure during damp, high-humidity seasons.
• Harvest Efficiency: «Ajax» features excellent plant uniformity, making it well-suited for direct combining. This reduces header losses and streamlines the harvest workflow.
• Regional Adaptability: Developed specifically for the Ukrainian soil and climate, the variety demonstrates strong resilience to early-season temperature fluctuations, ensuring consistent plant stands.

Integrating «Ajax» into your crop rotation program is a strategic move toward sustainable farming. By utilizing a variety that resists major fungal threats naturally, you minimize the financial and environmental costs of intensive chemical intervention. This variety is the choice for professionals who demand predictable performance, robust plant health, and high-quality harvest yields that meet market standards.
