Early-maturing, high-yielding white onion variety with excellent taste and market qualities
CorneT — Early white onion variety. Vegetation period 80-90 days. Leaves dark green with waxy coating. Bulbs of early CorneT variety are flat-shaped, small in size, weighing 50-70 g. Outer scales are silver-white. Inner scales are white and succulent. The main purpose of the CorneT variety is to obtain early produce for fresh consumption, culinary use, and canning (whole bulb canning). Suitable for storage (3-4 months). We recommend growing early white onion variety CorneT in all regions by direct sowing of seeds into open ground, or through seedlings (cassette method). Seed sowing rate is 4-6 kg/ha (0.8-1.5 million plants/ha). We recommend sowing with row spacing of 30-45 cm and plant spacing within row of 2.5-4.0 cm. For drip irrigation, we recommend using 8-row and 6-row planting. With uniform plant spacing, maturation process, field mechanical operations, and harvest become easier. Special attention should be paid to watering, as onion is very sensitive to soil moisture. Onion consumes the most water during the intensive growth period of the bulb until the start of stem lodging. Yield of early onion variety CorneT is 30-60 t/ha.
