Onion Korsar

Reliable Red Onion Variety for Commercial Growing

The «Korsar» onion, developed by the Ukrainian brand Nasko, is a staple choice for farmers focusing on the red salad onion market. This variety is tailored for short-day cultivation, making it a predictable and efficient option for producers in southern climate zones who prioritize yield consistency and marketability.

Agronomic Profile

With a maturation period of 260–270 days, «Korsar» proves its efficiency under proper agricultural management. Growers can achieve yields of up to 50 tons per hectare, which confirms its status as a competitive and productive variety for the fresh vegetable sector.

Appearance and Market Appeal

The market strength of «Korsar» lies in its visual quality. The bulbs are characterized by a flat-round shape and a rich, deep purple skin. Inside, the flesh exhibits a vibrant red hue, making it an excellent ingredient for fresh culinary preparations and salads. With an average bulb weight of 140–150 grams, the variety meets the standard size requirements for retail packaging and market displays.

Storage and Logistics

«Korsar» is designed for a storage shelf life of 3–4 months. This characteristic allows producers to plan a prompt sales strategy shortly after the harvest. It serves as an ideal solution for businesses that prefer high capital turnover and focus on supplying fresh produce during the peak demand period following the harvest.
