Super early variety, excellent market and taste qualities, high yield
GUSAR — Super early variety of white onion. Vegetative period 70-80 days. Leaves dark green with waxy coating — this allows plants to successfully resist pathogens. Bulbs of the GUSAR variety are flat-round and flat-shaped, small size, weighing 50-70 g. Outer scales are silver-white. Inner scales are white and juicy. The main purpose of the white onion variety GUSAR is to obtain early (bunch) products, as well as for fresh consumption, culinary use, and canning (whole bulb). Suitable for short-term storage. We recommend growing the super early onion variety GUSAR in all regions by direct sowing of seeds into open ground, or through seedlings (cassette method). The seeding rate for the onion variety GUSAR is 4-6 kg/ha (0.8-1.6 million plants/ha). We recommend sowing with row spacing of 30-45 cm and plant spacing within rows of 2.5-4.0 cm. For drip irrigation, we recommend using 8 and 6-row planting. When plants are evenly spaced, the maturation process of the super early onion GUSAR, field mechanical operations, harvesting, and drying — are simplified. This allows obtaining a high-quality and uniform product. Special attention should be paid to watering, as onion is very sensitive to soil moisture. The onion requires the most water during the intensive growth phase of the bulb until the beginning of stem fall. The yield of the super early white onion variety GUSAR is 30-50 t/ha.
