Pharaoh — a mid-late maturing variety of white onion. Vegetative period 110-120 days from emergence to mass stem fall. Commercial bulbs of the mid-late maturing variety Pharaoh are grown in one year. Plants with dark green leaves covered with a waxy coating. Bulbs round in shape, large size, weighing 160-220 g. Outer scales of the Pharaoh variety are perfectly white, inner scales are white, thick, juicy. The mid-late maturing white onion variety Pharaoh is characterized by a sharp taste, suitable for drying and universal use. The yield of the white onion variety Pharaoh is 60-70 t/ha. Suitable for long-term storage (up to 6 months). Recommended to grow the Pharaoh onion variety in all regions, sowing seeds directly into open ground or through seedlings. Seed sowing rate is 4-5 kg/ha. Plant density should be approximately 0.8-1.2 million per hectare. If large bulbs are required, use sparse sowing at a rate of 0.6-0.8 million plants per hectare. Recommended row spacing of 30-45 cm and plant spacing within row of 2.5-4.0 cm or 8.0-12.0 cm (depending on desired product). On drip irrigation, recommend 8-row and 6-row sowing (row spacing — 27 cm). Proper sowing is the foundation of successful Pharaoh onion cultivation. Uniform plant spacing facilitates maturation, field mechanical operations, harvest, and drying, allowing for high-quality, uniform product. Onion is a moisture-loving crop with a weak root system, therefore regular watering is necessary. The onion consumes the most water during the intensive growth period of the bulb. Harvesting is best conducted when 80-90% of the stems have fallen.
