Eggplant Burzhuy

Technical Potential of the 'Burzhuy' Eggplant by Sedek

The breeding efforts of the Sedek company on the 'Burzhuy' variety focus on balancing fruit mass and vegetation periods. In open-field conditions, this eggplant demonstrates stable yields within 100-110 days after transplanting. This mid-early indicator is critical for regions with moderate climates, where harvesting must be completed before early autumn frosts.

Morphological Characteristics of the Fruit

The key technical feature of this variety is the fruit shape. The flattened geometry ensures uniform distribution of nutrients and a dense pulp structure. With an individual fruit weight of 400 to 500 grams, this shape facilitates ease of transport and processing. Technical maturity is marked by a deep dark-purple color, indicating successful anthocyanin accumulation.

Agrotechnical Advantages

• High marketable yield due to resistance to environmental stress factors typical of open-field cultivation.
• Optimized vegetative mass, allowing the plant to efficiently channel energy into large-caliber fruit.
• The 400-500g fruit weight makes 'Burzhuy' a preferred choice for growers targeting the premium produce segment.

Adherence to a planting density appropriate for a vigorous bush type is recommended to ensure necessary sun exposure and airflow, which is essential for successful open-field cultivation.
