Excellent commercial and taste qualities, high yield

Emir — a mid-late maturing variety of white onion. Vegetative period 110-120 days — this allows harvesting and drying onions before the onset of rains. Emir variety onions are grown in one year. Emir onion plants are strong and vigorous. Onion bulbs are spherical, dense, large, weighing 120-200 g. Outer scales are perfectly white. Inner scales are white, thick, juicy, and crisp. Mid-late maturing white onion variety Emir is suitable for storage (up to 4-6 months). We recommend growing Emir onion in all regions, either sowing seeds directly into the open ground or through seedlings. Seed sowing rate is 4-5 kg/ha. Plant density should be approximately 0.8-1.2 million plants per hectare. If large Emir onion bulbs are required, a sparse sowing with a rate of 0.6-0.8 million plants per hectare is used. We recommend sowing with row spacing of 30-45 cm and plant spacing within rows of 2.5-4.0 cm or 8.0-12.0 cm (depending on the desired yield). For drip irrigation, we recommend using 8 and 6-row sowing (row spacing — 27 cm). Proper sowing is the foundation of successful crop cultivation. Uniform plant spacing facilitates the ripening process, field mechanical operations, harvesting, and drying — making it easier to achieve high-quality, uniform Emir onion yield. Onion is a moisture-loving crop with a shallow root system, so regular watering is necessary. The onion requires the most water during the intensive bulb growth period. Harvesting is best performed when 80-90% of the foliage has fallen. Yield of white onion variety Emir — 50-80 t/ha.
