Onion IONOVEC

Technical Specifications: 'Ionovets' Chives

The 'Ionovets' variety, developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing, is engineered for industrial-scale cultivation. This perennial chive variety is designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern vegetable farming, balancing biological vigor with high yield potential.

Yield and Lifecycle Dynamics

With a maturation cycle of 100 to 110 days, 'Ionovets' allows for predictable crop rotation and efficient harvesting schedules. The variety's primary technical advantage is its yield capacity, which exceeds 100 tons per hectare. This performance is sustained by strong tillering capabilities and optimal plant density, critical factors for maximizing commercial profitability.

Morphology and Marketability

• Bulb geometry: Flat-round, engineered for seamless mechanical sorting and packaging efficiency.
• Unit mass: 80–90 grams, representing the standard size for high-quality market produce.
• Color profile: White flesh encased in a distinct bronze-yellow skin, providing both aesthetic appeal and physical durability for long-distance transport and shelf life.

The selection process, led by researchers T.M. Seredin and A.V. Soldatenko, focused on stabilizing these hereditary traits to ensure uniformity across commercial batches. 'Ionovets' stands as a reliable, high-performance solution for both open-field and protected agriculture, meeting the professional requirements for consistency and yield efficiency.
