Description Persei
Persei onion, also known as Persian or Turkmen onion (Allium christophii), is a striking perennial plant with large spherical inflorescences up to 25 cm in diameter. Pale violet flowers with a metallic sheen form star-shaped structures that give the plant unique decorative appeal. The plant reaches a height of 40-60 cm, and the flowering period occurs in May-June or June-July, making it an excellent addition to gardens and flower beds in early summer.

To successfully grow Persei onion, you need loose, fertile, and sufficiently moist soil without waterlogging. The plant prefers sunny locations but can thrive well in light partial shade. It is recommended to plant bulbs or cloves in the fall on a well-prepared ridge to promote simultaneous sprouting in the spring. Adult plants reproduce by division or bulbils, while seed propagation requires patience as flowering occurs on the 2nd-6th year. Dried inflorescences retain their decorative value and can be used to create dried arrangements.

Each package contains 50 bulbs about 14 cm in diameter, which may appear as divided cloves, a normal characteristic for this plant. Each part grows into a full decorative plant. Persei onion looks great in group plantings, rock gardens, and mixed borders, adding an elegant and unusual look. Detailed cultivation instructions come with the bulbs, facilitating care and ensuring successful plant development.
