Onion of the Alvinna variety is a medium-maturing variety intended for growing bulbs in a one-year culture from seeds. The bulb is flat, weighing from 60 to 100 grams, with a semi-sharp taste. Dry skins have a purple hue, while juicy ones are white with a slight purple tint. The variety is characterized by stable yield, good ripening, and high storage quality, allowing bulbs to be stored for 6-7 months without loss of quality.

To obtain larger bulbs, growing via seedlings is recommended: seeds are sown for seedlings in March, and transplanted into open ground at the beginning of May according to a 20x10 cm scheme. Direct sowing of seeds into the ground is also possible at the end of April – beginning of May at a depth of 1.0-1.5 cm. For successful growth and abundant fruiting, plants require timely watering, regular weeding, loosening, and feeding with mineral fertilizers.

The Alvinna variety is characterized by good resistance to diseases and pests, which facilitates its cultivation. It is suitable for growing both as a winter and spring crop, having a short vegetative period – from germination to leaf lodging takes 95-105 days.
