Onion YELLOW BUTTON ONION

Technical Profile of «Zheltaya Pugovka» Onion

The variety developed by «Euro-Semena» (originator: Y. D. Tarasov) is a classic salad onion variety, optimized for temperate climate zones. The core engineering objective behind this hybrid was to achieve stable commercial yield within a compact growth cycle.

Morphological and Agrotechnical Parameters

• Vegetation Period: 90–100 days. This interval categorizes the variety as mid-early, allowing for efficient utilization of daylight hours and avoiding peak fungal pathogen activity towards the end of the season.
• Bulb Design: The geometric shape is flat. This architecture facilitates rapid neck drying and simplifies initial industrial or domestic processing.
• Color Characteristics: The outer skin has a light-brown hue, while the internal structure (scales) is white. This indicates its salad-type application: tender texture and mild flavor without excessive pungency.

From an agronomic perspective, «Zheltaya Pugovka» demonstrates predictable development. The flat bulb shape ensures uniform positioning in the soil, which minimizes damage during mechanical harvesting. The originator focused on balancing the ripening time with the density of the protective scales, making the variety ideal for fresh market sales with short-to-medium storage potential. Practical application of this cultivar is targeted at markets that prioritize a delicate flavor profile and a shape optimized for slicing.
