Description SIR 4
The spring oat variety SIR 4® is a medium-early grain variety developed for high yield and excellent grain quality. Plants of this variety have medium height and an erect bush, with a two-sided ear and semi-raised branch arrangement. The grain is large, of thick-grained type, with 1000-grain mass ranging from 37 to 44 grams, which contributes to high productivity and ease of processing.

The variety is characterized by good resistance to major diseases, including crown rust, powdery and starchy scabs, ensuring crop stability and reducing the need for intensive crop protection. Grain plumpness is 28.5%, and grain natural density ranges from 420 to 540 g/l. Protein content is in the range of 11.7-13.5%, fat — 4.61%, and starch — 43.4%, making this oat valuable for grain-forage use and obtaining high-quality raw materials.

The SIR 4® variety is adapted to various climatic conditions and recommended for cultivation in regions with a temperate climate. Thanks to its medium maturation period and resistance to pests, it is suitable for a wide range of agrotechnical conditions. The originator of the variety is the Federal Research Center of the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which confirms the scientific basis and quality of the breeding program.
