Description

Spring oat variety ARGAMAK® is a mid-late variety developed for cultivation in various climatic conditions to obtain high yields and stable plant development. This variety is distinguished by its strong, tall stem (61–98 cm), erect bush shape, semi-compact panicle, which provides good leafiness and resistance to lodging. The weight of 1000 grains varies from 32 to 40 grams, the grain is white, medium diploid type, belongs to the mutica variety — awnless and white-grained. Pliability is about 24%, and protein content in the grain reaches 14.6%, which indicates high quality raw materials.

ARGAMAK variety has a high resistance to diseases, including crown rust and loose smut, which significantly reduces crop loss risks. Due to its strength and large vegetative mass, it is suitable for cultivation of green mass, as well as an excellent component in legume-cereal mixtures. The potential yield of the variety reaches 70.7 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity under intensive growing technologies.

In addition, the grain of this variety has high nutritional qualities: taste and color assessment of porridge reaches maximum 5 points, and groat output is from 65 to 73%. Grain naturalness equals 490 g/l, which indicates its uniformity and good quality. The ripening period is mid-season; the variety ripens 2–4 days earlier than the «Selma» variety and 3–5 days later than the «Ulov» variety, allowing for flexible planning of agricultural activities.
