Harmony is a medium-early spring white-seeded food oats variety developed based on the Ivory variety with improved characteristics. The plant is medium-height with a semi-erect bush and a two-sided ear with semi-upwardly positioned branches. The ears are drooping, the ear awn is of medium length with a weak waxy coating, and the grain varies from large to very large. The thousand-kernel mass is 41-49 grams, and the grain purity is within the range of 460-550 g/l, indicating high-quality raw material.
The variety is characterized by high yield, which in the Volga-Vyatka region averages 37.5 c/ha, while maximum indicators reach up to 80.3 c/ha. In the Central zone of the Perm region, the variety shows an addition to the standard Konkurs of 3.0 c/ha with a yield of 47.8 c/ha. The vegetation period is 77-93 days, which makes Harmony a medium-early variety that ripens slightly later than some varieties but earlier than others. The variety is resistant to lodging, outperforming standard varieties by 0.5-1.0 points in this indicator, and possesses moderate drought resistance.
Harmony has high resistance to diseases, including powdery mildew, crown rust, leaf spot, and septoria, ensuring crop stability and reducing the need for intensive plant protection. Protein content in the grain reaches 12.8%, making it valuable for food use. Thanks to flexible sowing dates and improved agronomic characteristics, the Harmony variety is a reliable choice for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatka region and the Central zone of the Perm region.
