Atlet

The spring oat variety «Athlet» is a medium-maturing and medium-height type with a vegetation period ranging from 75 to 92 days. It matures simultaneously with the Arghamak variety and a few days earlier than the Konkur standard. The plant features a semi-erect bush, a two-sided ear, and drooping spikelets. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 35 to 43 grams, and grain purity is 450-520 g/l. This variety belongs to the aurea group and is distinguished by valuable grain quality with protein content ranging from 10.3% to 13.2%. «Athlet» was developed and registered in 2017 by the Ural Federal Agrarian Research and Experimental Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is recommended for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatka and Ural regions, including the Republic of Bashkortostan. The average yield of the variety in the Ural region reaches 22.8 centners per hectare, with a maximum yield up to 52.0 c/ha. The variety is characterized by moderate resistance to lodging and drought, ensuring crop stability under unfavorable conditions. Despite good resistance to diseases, «Athlet» is susceptible to red-purple leaf spot, hard head smut, and powdery head smut. This variety is widely used in agronomy for field planting due to its combination of high yield and high-quality grain indicators. Its characteristics make «Athlet» an attractive choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality oat harvest.
