Description BALADA
Fagopyrum esculentum variety Balada is a type of buckwheat with erect determinate plants ranging from 70 to 125 cm in height. The medium-sized fruits have a gray-brown color with medium-sized wings. The leaves are small and heart-shaped triangular, while the inflorescences are racemes on medium axillary peduncles. The color of the buds and corolla varies from white to white-pink, with medium-sized flowers. The variety is medium-maturing with a vegetation period from 70 to 85 days and is characterized by uniform maturity.

Balada is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, reaching up to 5 points, as well as increased resistance to shattering, drought, and high temperatures. These qualities make the variety suitable for harvesting by direct combine harvesting. Additionally, the variety is highly responsive to fertilizers, which contributes to increased yield and adaptability to various growing conditions.

The technological and culinary assessment of the Balada variety is at a high level. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 28 to 32 grams, the hulling percentage is about 20.1%, and the uniformity is 64.5%. The grain yield reaches 72.9%, the whole grain percentage is 56.2%, and the grain size is 52.5%. These indicators indicate the high quality of the grain and its suitability for producing groats with good taste characteristics.
