Buckwheat ZHDANKA

Agrobiological Profile of «Zhdanka» Buckwheat

The selection product by Vera Ivanovna Nikitina is the result of targeted breeding aimed at stabilizing yields under high-risk farming conditions. As an annual crop, "Zhdanka" demonstrates a high potential for adaptability to temperature fluctuations, which is a critical factor for grain formation during flowering and seed filling.

Technological Potential

• Plant Architectonics: The variety features a well-balanced stem density, minimizing the risk of lodging during heavy rainfall. Optimal branching allows for the efficient use of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), ensuring uniform maturation of inflorescences.
• Filling Intensity: The internal physiology of the variety is geared toward the accelerated translocation of plastic substances from the vegetative mass to reproductive organs. This shortens the period from full flowering to technical maturity, which is crucial for regions with short frost-free seasons.
• Grain Quality: The seeds are characterized by high uniformity and density. The development by Vera Ivanovna Nikitina implies genetic control over dry matter accumulation, resulting in a consistently high kernel yield during milling.

The practical application of the "Zhdanka" variety requires a differentiated approach to seeding rates. Given its morphological characteristics, the crop reaches its peak potential under lower density planting, which prevents competition for moisture and nutrients during critical growth stages. In farms adhering to intensive technologies, this variety responds positively to timely foliar feeding, securing yield increases by extending the functional activity of the foliage.
