Sapsan

Oats of the Sapsan PR-1 variety are a spring variety with a medium-early maturity period of 68 to 92 days. The plant is characterized by a semi-erect bush with two-sided panicles, where the spikelets are drooping and covered with weak or medium wax bloom. Seeds are large, with a 1000-seed mass ranging from 33 to 44 grams and a grain bulk density from 420 to 540 g/L. Protein content in the grain varies from 10.5 to 14.7%, ensuring good quality raw material for various agricultural needs.

The variety exhibits moderate resistance to crown rust but is susceptible to powdery bunt. Drought resistance for Sapsan oats is average, allowing cultivation in various climatic conditions, including the Central and Volga-Vyatsky regions. Average yield in these regions reaches about 40.8–40.9 centners per hectare, indicating the high productivity of the variety.

Sapsan oats are widely used in agriculture, farming enterprises, as well as on private and garden plots. It combines adaptability and stability, providing high grain quality, making it in demand for feed production and other agricultural purposes.
