Miscanthus TITAN is a giant species of ornamental grass that forms an upright bush up to 3.5 m high and 1.5 m wide. The leaves are long and wide compared to other miscanthus varieties, and turn a golden hue in late autumn, making the plant particularly decorative from June to November.
TITAN flowers only in autumn and is characterized by pink, fluffy flower heads about 30 cm long. A full flowering period requires a long growing season; in cold climates, the flower may not appear at all. The root system reaches a depth of more than 3 m, ensuring the plant's stability under unfavorable conditions.
For successful growth, Miscanthus TITAN prefers sunny areas with light partial shade and fertile, loose, moist, but well-drained soils. It is hardy in zone 5b; mature plants withstand harsher winters than young saplings, but light covering is required during severe frosts.
In landscape design, TITAN is often used as an accent element due to its outstanding architectural form and bright plumes. It blends beautifully with other ornamental grasses, creating picturesque ensembles in grass gardens, mixed borders, and coniferous-deciduous plantings. The plant is also suitable for decorating the shoreline of water bodies in combination with moisture-loving species such as hosta, veronicastrum, or hibiscus.
