DescriptionRACHEYKA
Racheyka is a variety of vetch (Lathyrus sativus L.) intended primarily for food use. It is characterized by high drought tolerance, moderate resistance to lodging, and high resistance to shattering, making it suitable for cultivation in many climate zones of the country. The plant height ranges from 83 to 97 cm, while in the Saratov region, the yield fluctuates between 9.3 and 13.8 centners per hectare.
The key characteristic of Racheyka is its protein content in the grain – from 27.6% to 30.4%. This makes it a valuable source of high-quality plant protein for food production. The mass of 1000 grains is in the range of 176–224 g, and the vegetative period lasts 87–111 days. The variety does not show signs of disease damage, confirming its resistance to agro-hazards.
The variety was developed and registered by the Russian research institute "NIPTI" in cooperation with Saratov State Agrarian University. It has been included in the state register for all cultivation zones of the crop, confirming its wide applicability. Racheyka is recommended for cultivation in the Saratov region and other regions with similar climatic conditions, where high productivity and resistance to adverse factors are important.
